Artist Lu Yuan-Ze began his artistic training in Taiwan under several distinguished artists, including Lai H.C., before continuing his studies at the renowned Repin Academy in Russia and later with Odd Nerdrum in Norway. He now works as a successful freelance artist based in Taiwan.
Lu’s work demonstrates a masterful approach to creative problem-solving and picture-making that transcends traditional academic boundaries. His unique sense of abstraction and sensitivity to form beautifully bridge classical training with a contemporary visual language.
Course description:
This workshop is designed to sharpen your observation skills and train you to capture proportion and structure with speed and accuracy. Through a series of timed exercises, you'll develop an instinct for gesture and expression.
Lu Yuan-Ze will demonstrate and guide you through each stage - from 3-5 minute quick sketches to longer one-hour poses - helping you build both confidence and spontaneity in your portrait work.
