Day 2 — Pastel: Colour & Mass

• Introduction to soft pastel

• Limited palette and colour mixing

• Temperature and chroma

• Translating value into colour

• Layering, mass and expressive mark-making

Day 3 — Pastel: Developed Portrait

• Sustained portrait from the model

• Point → line → plane → mass

• Colour and compositional hierarchy

• Edge control and focal emphasis

• Individual guidance and critiques
